  • Jennifer’s interior design career was launched in 1988 when she was assistant designer at the renowned Kreiss Studio working on dozens of Hollywood celebrity’s iconic homes. In 1992, Jennifer stepped out on her own and co-founded the highly successful and innovative design studio and furniture store MAUDLIN with locations in Corona Del Mar and La Jolla. In 2013, Jennifer built upon her success and launched VAN GALDER DESIGN FOR LIVING.

    Jennifer studied business management at UCLA, and then used her education as the basis to successfully pursue her passion for all things design.

    Jennifer’s lives in La Jolla with her husband and their blended family, and the life lessons of parenting and building a warm and inviting family home, are the bedrock of her business approach. And, naturally, the inspiration for her highly livable home designs.


  • Kristine studied Architectural & Interior Design at UCLA. In 1992, she co-founded the highly successful and innovative furniture store MAUDLIN with her sister, Jennifer, and their mother. Kristine was recruited by Barry Diller and Diane Von Furstenberg to design for their high-end lifestyle shows on QVC and subsequently built the fashion brands Chaser and Trunk. Kristine is thrilled to be with VAN GALDER DESIGN and her roots.

    Kristine is raising two daughters who keep her on her toes. Kristine cannot imagine life without her family, is grateful for the challenges and feels very blessed.

We make interior and exterior spaces functional, safe, and beautiful for almost every type of building by determining space requirements and selecting essential and decorative items, such as colors, lighting, and materials.
